Arizona Muse, Liya Kebede and Abbey Lee Kershaw are just a few of the top models who agreed to take part in Anja Rubik’s erotic magazine.
The
new mag features 300 pages of amazing fashion production photographed
by the world’s best female photographers. Anja Rubik presents, “25”
Magazine.
In 2009 top model Anja Rubik debuted “25” magazine. This
year, during the Cannes festival, Rubik and her husband, Sasha
Knezevic, relaunched the magazine, dedicating its first issue to the art
of erotica. Throughout the creative process, Rubik was inspired by the
style of 70s issues like “Viva,” and the aesthetics of “Penthouse” and
“Playboy” magazines.
The new “25” is not a sleazy or girly
magazine; on the contrary, it pays homage to females in the fashion
industry. It is a huge fashion production that includes 300 fashion
photographs without any ad campaigns. All the photographs in the
magazine were taken by incredibly talented female photographers, among
them Annie Leibovitz, Inez van Lamsweerde, Corrine Day, and Ellen von
Unwerth.
In order to make “25” even more outstanding, Rubik
gathered a few of her fellow top models to pose nude and be a part of
the new phenomena. Arizona Muse and Liya Kebede said yes to Rubik’s
fashion project, and Abbey Lee Kershaw also agreed to be in the video
and a teaser for the renewed magazine.
"25 is basically
directed toward very strong-minded, ambitious women, who are very
comfortable with themselves and their sexuality,” Rubik told models.com.
“I was thinking a lot recently and looking how sex, nudity and bodies
are approached nowadays. Erotica kind of disappeared. The way we
approach sex is either really prude or very vulgar".
Although
there is a lot of nudity in the new “25,” Rubik emphasizes that it also
includes a lot of fashion. “The stylists had a lot of liberty to play
around with clothes, and there was no list of credits they had to follow
or anything like that," said the top model, who is very thrilled to be
on the other side of the camera for a change.
