BuzzFeed
has corralled 13 crazy stories from New York City sales associates
about the returns they've seen shoppers attempt to make over the years.
Here are a couple of our favorites:
From Bloomingdale's: "Prom season was always the
worst. We'd have girls come in the day after prom trying to return
dresses with sweat stains that smelled like cigarettes and beer."
From BCBG Max Azria: "There was a customer who spent
$17,000 in one day. The next day, she came back with a note from her
therapist that said she was a shopping addict and needed to return the
items."
From Lucky Brand Jeans: "People try and return jeans
that they've already altered all the time. We've had customers come in
who have added five or six inches to the hem line and now want a
refund."
Time to spill your shopping secrets, ladies: Have you ever bought a
dress, worn it with the tags still on, and brought it back the next day?
Was it for a special occasion, like a wedding? How did you justify your
one-time-use-only "purchase"? Did you feel guilty? Is it a regular
habit? I know you've got stories out there...time to share 'em!
