Mick Jagger's youngest daughter follows in Kelly Osbourne and Taylor Momsen's footsteps as the face of Madonna's teen clothing line.
Material
Girl is a teen clothing line designed by the pop queen and her eldest
daughter, Lourdes Leon. Celebrities like Kelly Osbourne and Taylor
Momsen were the face of the brand, but now a new muse has arrived.
Madonna
and Lourdes have chosen model Georgia May Jagger to lead the brand's
back-to-school campaign. Jagger is the youngest daughter of The Rolling
Stones’ Mick Jagger and 70's supermodel Jerry Hall. “To be handpicked by
Madonna and Lola as the new face of Material Girl is truly amazing,”
Jagger said in a PR statement. “I’ve always admired Madonna’s style and
I’m thrilled to be working with them.”
Although the 20-year-old
Jagger did not inherit her mother's height, her look and figure have
earned her a few notable contracts. Since 2012 she has held a modeling
contract with Rimmel makeup and has starred in the brand's ad campaigns.
She also appeared in ads for H&M and Hudson Jeans. In 2011, Jagger
posed for Karl Lagerfeld in a shoot for Chanel’s resort line.
Georgia May Jagger has also appeared on the cover of several fashion magazines, such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, i-D and Numero.
Madonna
and Lourdes launched the junior clothing line at Macy's in 2010; now
the Material Girl line is available at Macy's and Canada's The Bay.
Starting this summer the teen clothing line will be offered in stores
across Europe and Australia.
The newly anticipated campaign will
debut this summer. Although everyone (including Jagger) has been sworn
to secrecy on its content, the new face of Material Girl told Vogue UK
that the photoshoot took place in New York, and it was loads of fun.
